Here you can choose among my most popular images and have it printed as a LIMITED EDITION PRINT at my studio in Mexico, and shipped to where you are. My Limited Edition prints have a resale value. They have that because I am an established artist with close to 40 years of experience as an international artist. My art is, for example, with buyers from all 50 US states.
The Limited Edition prints feature the title, my name, and the number of 100, and are signed. All was written with a pencil below the image. My prints are printed using a professional inkjet printer with pigmented inks. guaranteeing a longevity of 175 years under glass, away from sunlight.
This, the Smaller, Matted Signature Edition, 8" x 10" prints feature a signature written by me with a pencil. The title and my name are printed at the same time as the image. All my prints are printed with the same kind of pigmented inks, guaranteeing a longevity of at least 175 years under glass, away from sunshine. These prints are matted. They are suitable for a staircase or in a hallway. The prints are 5 inches at their widest part. The overall matted size is 8" x 10". (" = inch = 2.54 cm).
8" x 10" is a standard size, so it is easy to find a matching frame
THE TEXAS COLLECTION or TTC for short
During my nearly 7 years in Texas, I painted 53 paintings. Out of those, only seven became what you can imagine being Texas-related.
When you understand how I paint, you understand better. While most other painters have an idea what they would like to create, I only paint when I feel like it. So, while other artists have some kind of schedule of when they are going to be in their studio space, I do not. But when I paint, I can create a number of totally different paintings during that day. ALL GOOD!! Why force yourself to paint by having stupid rules... That must limit your creativity. At least that is how I see it. But, then I have never taken an art class as most other artists...
The originals left are both on canvas and paper. Some under glass are either from the period 1987 - 2001, and they are painted with gouache.
OR they are from my time in Wisconsin, 2002 - 2011, and they are painted with acrylics on paper. Most works created in Texas, 2012 - 2018, were also painted on paper using acrylics. The time in Mexico is a different thing altogether, as here I have sold NADA. As a comparison, while I lived in Wisconsin and Texas, 10 years, respectively. 7 years, I sold about 30 originals at each location.
While art is available at arts and craft shows everywhere in the USA, Mexico doesn't have ANY of that. The only arts and crafts sold on markets in Mexico are inspired by Mexican heritage. Other art, like the one I create, for example, is only available at high-end galleries in Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, and Monterrey. And as 80% of the population is poor, it is difficult to sell ANYTHING HERE.
Some time during the spring of 2013, I had gone to my art supply store in San Antonio, Texas. I had moved there just after Thanksgiving in 2011.
Before that, I lived in Wisconsin for ten years, and before that in my native Sweden. In the store, I learned that they had their Spring Sale Event that day!
When I saw these large canvases and the price, I couldn't resist; I bought them all. That, without having the faintest idea what to do with them all. There were in all 21 canvases. While most other artists have a clear idea of what they are going to create, and they work every day, much like a job. I work differently. I only paint when I feel like it. And that is not every day, week, or month, or whatever. It is when I feel like it. As i cannot for my life understand how you can be creative if you have to force yourself to paint....
This category is about memorable locations in Mexico through the eyes of the artist.
SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE; PUERTO VALLARTA; BAHIA DE BANDERAS; PUNTA MITA & LOS CABOS
The images are available in three sizes. The sizes mentioned are the image sizes. And they are mentioned in inches ". 1 inch = 2.54 cm.
The smallest image is 5" and it is matted in an 8" x 10" mat. That is a standard size, which makes it easy to find a matching frame. The other two, one 10" (25.4 cm) and the other 20" (50.80 cm), are delivered in tubes with UPS. Free shipping within Mexico. Outside Mexico, a $30 surcharge is added. That is about 50% of the total shipping cost.
All images are printed with pigmented inks on Museum-grade artist papers. Pigmented inks have a longevity of 175 years plus under glass away from daylight.
This category is an OPEN EDITION. These prints are printed the same way as the 20" Collectible Limited Edition. The DIFFERENCE is that the prints in this edition are not numbered. For that reason, a lower price is set as they are not officially resalable. But that is in the future, and nothing is set in stone. Below the image, I write, from left to right: THE TITLE; MY NAME; MY SIGNATURE, all written by me using a pencil
REFLECTION
While most artists' works are similar, mine is not. That has given me an unexpected advantage, namely that many people are buying more than
one piece of my art. Commonly, a couple buys two or more. A couple in San Luis Potosí (Mexico) has five of my prints, and a couple in Houston (Texas)
bought eight over five years. When I lived in Wisconsin (USA), the same thing also happened with original art.
ONE MORE THING
I have been online with my art since 2009. Selling online in the USA turned out to be difficult. Fortunately, every town, big or small, has at least one arts and crafts festival every year. And that is how American artists make a living. Here, artists have to rely on galleries that take 60% commission. Being an artist is the desire of many, but very few make it work. In the USA, I sold my art at shows, selling approximately 3000 prints in different sizes and about seventy originals, over ten years. That venue doesn't exist here. This website is the only real venue I have here.
